The 2Plus LE-Adapter is a larger version of our original
and very successful LE-Adapter. This adapter was developed
as a result of a high volume of requests from individuals
with optical devices with rather large eyepieces who had
no method to couple them to their cameras. Now those
enthusiasts with Kowa, Leica, Swarovski spotting scopes or
those with large eyepieces on their telescopes can enjoy
this new lens to eyepiece camera accessory.
We highly recommend the
largest eyepiece as possible. As Kenneth Farmer, PhD,
recently mentioned in a
Product
Review “The
new 2Plus will accommodate eyepieces up to 60mm in
diameter. This is important for two reasons: (1) Larger
eyepieces offer brighter images. This is crucial for
ultra-telephoto video, because as focal length increases,
light reaching the CCD decreases. (2) Larger eyepieces
decrease the tendency for vignetting (darkening of the
edges of the image) when used with digital cameras and
camcorders.”
There are a few excellent
articles recently written regarding long range imaging
which I highly recommend you read if you are interested in
wild life photography when using digital cameras or
camcorders.
